The Vision

We dream of being a church plant that continues to grow and plants churches all over the city of Atlanta and then plants churches in the cities of our world. We are seeking to reach young adults in Midtown Atlanta.

Prayer Requests

  • Please pray for the many singles in Midtown Atlanta who are sexually broken.
  • Please pray that the gospel will be sown deep in our community.
  • Please pray we could reach the children of the haves and have-nots.
  • Please pray for Holy Spirit momentum for the Bride of Christ in the city.
  • Please pray for future church planters and plants.
  • Please pray the Urban Atlanta Church Planting Group.
  • Please pray for my wife Pam, and my children Ariah, Asa and Seth, and my mother-in-law Mary who lives with us.
  • Please pray we could reach the Elementary School and Middle School and High School in our neighborhood.
  • Please pray that our community would have a spiritual awakening.
  • Please for my marriage with Pam.

Volunteer Needs

  • We need some college or adult groups who can help us with some coffee on the go in the mornings for our neighbors on their way to work. Between 6 a.m. - 8 a.m. we can serve 300 - 400 cups of coffee and make 300 - 400 contacts.
  • We desire some teams to come and help us collect food for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which is one the main resources for some in poverty who need food. It allows us to interact on a much more than normal level of receptivity with our community. A team would spend 3-4 days canvassing neighborhoods and collecting from those who want to participate.
  • Groups that can help us do hospitality visits for our neighborhoods. A door to door visit with our neighbors letting them know we are in the community, praying with them and hopefully sharing the gospel with them.
  • Groups that can help us in the summer with sports camps like soccer and basketball camps. These groups would come and work with us in providing camps for kids in different areas of the cities. The teams would provide supervision, interaction, snacks, water breaks, and hopefully any of the supplies needed as well as participating with kids and sharing their faith.
  • Summer college missionaries who would come and work with 1027church and be involved daily in missional learning and missional activities. Would be involved in set-up and break down for 1027church every week. These missionaries would hopefully land a summer job in community to build relationships with those far from God and experience first hand all types of opportunities to make disciples.
  • Lots of other random acts of kindness that would allow us to reach our community will come into sharper focus later.

Financial Needs

  • We had our trailer stolen in January 2009. It held our equipment, supplies, and other stuff we used.  There are some miscellaneous things we were not able to replace:
    • 2 speakers and monitors: $1500
    • Screen (reverse projection) & stand: $200-500. We would use these for spring & summer events (We have a front screen.)
    • Microphone cables: 200.00
    • Speaker cables: 200.00 - we did not replace any long cables
    • Microphones, headset
  • We need some software so our team can all be on the same system. We are mac guys but we do not all have same software. We would like to get 3 licenses for Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac.
  • We could use Starbucks gift cards - $25.00 or whatever amount. We spend a large amount of time in third party space like Starbucks sharing the gospel and praying with people.
  • We could still use some help with monthly rent at the Middle School where we meet. It costs us $380.00 dollars for 3 hours per week.
  • We redesigning our WEB presence which is very important in our community. We have begged and borrowed services and design. We have a new project we would like to launch in January that we believe will not only help us but will allow us to let people in the church serve by being able to up-date and write stuff. The cost of the project will be $1,200.00
  • We use a group called 48hourprint.com. We could use some gift cards with them to help with printed pieces in 2010. Most projects cost about 250.00 and up, depending on quantities.
  • BIG Huge crazy prayer requests/financial need:
    • Our oldest goes to college in the Fall 2010. Please pray for us during this transition.
    • We would love to find an old old Honda Accord 4 four door sedan to help out with family transportation.
